Ready To Go

Urban Living in Amman, Jordan
Urban area of Amman, Jordan

As of now, I have less than one day left until I begin my journey half way across the world for 4 months.

I finally got myself to start packing, and am trying my hardest not to bring everything and the kitchen sink. But I have finally successfully brought myself down to two large suitcases WITH ROOM TO SPARE. (anyone who knows me well knows this is quite impressive).

As I have been preparing for this trip for the last many months, the number one piece of advice that I have been given is to simply not go with any expectations. So that is what I am trying to do. However, I have a few goals in mind for what I'm hoping to get from this experience.

1. Expand my knowledge of Arabic, and actually speak it in front of people instead of just my cat and classmates in Arabic when my teacher corners me.
2. Gain new perspective - that's what it's all about, right?
3. Learn to make authentic and fantastic Arabic food - particularly hummus and desserts.
4. Have an unforgettable experience - and ride a camel.

If you care to join in this experience with me, I would love to hear from you through comments, messages, questions. I will update as often as I am able or have anything interesting to share!
